2017 Ford Escape vs. 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe

This series stems from a compilation of photos I started to put together a couple years ago on my phone to share with my friend and dear car enthusiast. I hope that I can at least entertain you to consider that some ideas and designs are not entirely original, or are at least considerably similar to features found on other cars. Looking back, some of these comparisons are not as close as others, but I figures this series would at least be worth sharing for a bit of a laugh.
How these two square off
Both of these photos side-by-side make it difficult to argue that these two are so different. In this image, both are equipped with black wheels and black rocker panel trim. Look at how the lowest part of the grill comes up to meet the hexagonal grill on both vehicles. Both cars have spaces in the front bumper for a small faux grill and fog lights, however there is a connected groove running across the bumper of the Hyundai. It’s very difficult to differentiate the side windows with black sill trim, and looking at how the A-pillars swoop up and then back. Both have roof rails that follow the A-pillar line to the back, and the strong body line running along the sides and across the door handles is quite a commonality. The biggest distinguisher between the two from this angle is the headlights, which are quite differently shaped.
What do you think? Which one do you prefer?
